Blown Away!

Hi everyone! I recently bought my first Stamping Bella stamps. I debated because I would rather have clear stamps any day but these images are so adorable and so great to color! I have only stamped and colored the one but I think I'm hooked!

This card was made for the Color Throwdown Challenge #453.  A trio of super bright and happy colors that went perfectly with this sweet image! The majority of the card is in pink because... well who doesn't love a pink frilly dress?! I added in accents of the lime green with the front balloon and the tiny fishtail flag sentiment along with one shiny sequin in the same shade!

The yellow is highlighted with it's own balloon and with a tag at the bottom of the card as well as another lone sequin! I colored and shaded and colored and shaded the dress for that rich hue and gave her pink shoes to match! Of course I had to add one pink sequin too and lots of Wink of Stella for glittery shine!

2017 Monthly Mini: July!

Hi everyone! The end of the month means it's time for a new mini scrapbook on the blog and this one is a cutie! The 'Emoji Love' collection from Simple Stories is so adorable, fun and happy. Who knew emojis could be so cute and creative!

I was originally going to do an I-phone mini but changed my mind and chose to do an Instagram photo box instead. I filled it with sturdy tabbed pages in graduated sizes, layered with the fabulous paper from the collection and lots of fun ephemera and embellishments! There are a couple of pockets with tags, a fun pull-out and even a flip page in this mini!

The camera itself is a Silhouette file, the 3D Instant Camera Box, which gives you all of the pieces to make this chunky box. I cut them out of thin chipboard for sturdiness before covering them in the fun papers. For the front of the camera I added some of the cute stickers for accents!

These are the fronts of the pages inside the box......

And these are the backs.....

I have also made a short video so you can see this charming mini in action!

Sweet Ice Cream!

Hi everyone! I used to love when the ice cream truck came around in the summer. There were always so many good treats to choose from although I rarely strayed from my fudgesicle! These days, however, I would much rather make an ice cream card than eat it but I never turn down chocolate!

There is not a lot of stamping on this card but I think that makes the details really stand out. I used a nail polish marbled background that I made a while ago and chose complimentary card stock colors to match for the die cuts. Once all of the sweet treats were cut, I gave them all a good mist with a Perfect Pearl mist for pretty shine!

I created a combo of colors for the treats and mounted them onto the marbled background over a small strip of vellum. The only stamping I did for this card is on the vellum and then I embossed over it in bright pink! I added in lots of sequins and put a little detail on the inside too!

Emoji Love!

Hi everyone! Talk about super cute paper lines... the 'Emoji Love' collection from Simple Stories is so awesome and fun and colorful! I had such a ball (LOL!) making this card set and know lots of people who would love this collection like I do!

I veered off the A2 track and made square cards for this set- it's always good to get out of the box and try something different! They are 4.5 " which leaves lots of room for all of the bright colors and fun details! Each card has a different solid colored base which is layered with the bright patterned papers from the collection.

There are so many great parts to this collection. The stickers, the bits & pieces, the chipboard.... and I used them all to decorate these charming cards! Each features at least one adorable emoji with super cute sentiment stickers as well as lots of fun embellishments!

I also used the beautiful patterned papers to make matching envelopes for each card. I just love coordinating projects but it would be fun to mix and match them too!

A large glassine envelope is the perfect container for this sweet set so you can see all of the goodies inside! I used the patterned papers and embellishments to make some cute decorations for the outside of the package too! This on-trend collection should definitely be on your to buy list!

Happy Birthday Floral!

Hi everyone! The new Color Throwdown #452 is on and there are lots of pretty and bright colors to be inspired by! I took one look at them and immediately thought floral!

The stamp I'm am using is from the Simon Says Stamp June Card Kit and I have never used it! I knew with it's multitude of blooms and leaves that it would look awesome in this color combo!

I stamped the image first in Memento black ink and then colored everything in with Copic markers in the challenge shades.  A large circle die was used to cut around the image and I fussy cut the areas close to the edge so the leaves wouldn't be cut off.

I mounted the colored background onto a doily for a frilly effect and then onto a butter yellow card front. I cut the sentiment die four times and stacked them before adhering them over the birthday sentiment which was stamped in turquoise. A few colorful gems and sequins add just a bit of shine!

The Little Things!

Hi everyone! I am just loving these Amy Tangerine stamps! The flowers remind me so much of hibiscus blooms and they look so awesome in bright colors!

For this card, I combined two stamp sets  for different floral images and embossed them in white before adding watercolors.  Once the first coat of watercolors was dry, I went in and added a second or third splash to some areas so they would be brighter.

I kept the center open for this sweet sentiment which is stamped in crisp, black ink so it really stands out!  Before mounting the watercolor panel onto some pretty patterned papers, I dressed up the side with multi-colored hemp cord and then added in lots of fun sequins!

I'll Drink To That!

Hi everyone! I have a fun and colorful card today for the newest Color Throwdown Challenge #451 this week! The colors for the challenge are simply divine and I just love the inspiration photo! I was inspired by those yummy looking drinks and remembered I had this oldie, but goodie, stamp set that would be perfect!

This whole card was based on this cutie in the glass! I gave her a bright green dress and some pretty pink hair to go along with the challenge colors and then layered her over a fun, dotty ink blended background! I was originally thinking of making the liquid in the glass pink too, but then decided that would look a bit wonky with the green so gave it just a nice glittery shine!

I also lightly inked up the card base and brought in more of the challenge colors with some card stock. The sentiment is matted on green card stock and also popped up just a bit. I added in a little more green and shine with a few lime green sequins!

Marbled Shaker!

Hi everyone! I love shaker cards but one of the things that really gets to me is the acetate! It gets scratched or smudged easily and it can have a lot of static which keeps the fillers from moving like they should. So I thought I would try something a little different for this shaker card!

All of the elements for this shaker are the same- I die cut a rectangle frame and foam for underneath it to hold the fillers. But instead of acetate, I opted for a piece of white tulle! It's easy to work with and the mesh is small enough so that nothing escapes! It also adds a soft, subtle look to the card!

I've also been playing around with nail polish marbling and decided to incorporate that into this card too! I die cut the wildflower corner and butterfly both from white card stock and then filled in all of the open spaces with the marbled paper for a dramatic look! These were adhered to the top of the shaker frame along with a sweet little sentiment! So pretty!

Enjoy The Ride!

Hi everyone! Summer is the time for fairs and carnival rides! It's also a wonderful time for gorgeous sunsets and long days. I combined both things in this CAS card!

The background is blended with distress inks in sunset shades of pink, orange and yellow and looks awesome with the black silhouette of the ferris wheel! I, myself, am not a fan of that particular ride so a stamped one is perfect for me!

I triple stacked card stock in matching hues for a really cool frame effect around the silhouette and then added bright white card stock on top. I wanted to keep the sentiment colorful and did a bit of ombré stamping on the largest word before adding in the shiny black gems at the bottom!
